Material Handler

A material handler will assist in replenishments to active pick area from bulk. Additionally, he or she will assist in unloading incoming shipments, perform put aways into bulk locations and collect and bail cardboard.

Duties and responsibilities

· Unload trucks and sign bills in a timely manner

· Unloading containers requires constant lifting and moving products up to 35 lbs. overhead for 2-hour periods.

· Safely operate warehouse equipment to ensure a safe work environment

· Report any forklift issues to ensure they are properly fixed by a trained technician.

· Communicate any issues and report any accidents to the manager immediately.

· Keep work zone clean and orderly and help maintain a safe and clean work environment

· Move product from bulk area to active pick as needed

· Put away inbound products into bulk locations in a timely manner

· Perform cycle counts as needed

· Assist in bi-yearly physical inventory

· Perform other duties and tasks not listed as requested by the Operations Manager

Qualifications

· Experience in a warehouse setting is preferred, but willing to train the right person

· English/Spanish Bilingual a plus

· Basic skillset in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word)

· Ability to work independently and/or in a team setting.

· Position has physical requirements and must be able to lift 35lb boxes on a routine basis. Must be able to routinely stand up between 75%-100% per working day.

Physical requirements

The position requires the ability to perform the following physical demands and/or have the listed capabilities.

· The ability to sit up 50% of applicable work time.

· The ability to use your hands and fingers to feel and manipulate items, including keyboards, up to 100% of applicable work time.

· The ability to stand, talk, and hear for 75% of applicable work time.

· The ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds up to 50% of applicable work time.

· Close Vision: The ability to see clearly at twenty inches or less.

Hours are 8:00am to 4:30pm, M – F, no weekends.
Pay range is $15 to $19 per hour depending on experience.
